Preparation
There's also a version of MAME for smart phones based on the Series 60 operating system. Install in the Phone

EMame tile in the left—hand window and click on the green arrow to install it.

Configuration
A message will pop upon your phone telling you that the application is untrusted. Just click on the Yes soft key to continue. Then select PH.Mem to install Emame in your phone’s memory. After few seconds the application will be fully installed, now restart your phone.

Downloading the ROM
To use the emulator to play games, you need the ROM files that were used in the original arcade machines. Start up your browser and head to Google, Do a search for mario.zip, and when you locate the ROM file, download it to your desktop. Then, place it in a folder called EMame ROMS in the root of the C or E drive on your phone.

Testing and Running
Now disconnect your phone from the PC, go to the Applications menu and select Emame from the list. Click on the OK button to have Emame scan for arcade ROMS. Once it’s finished scanning, it will find the Galaxians ROM on your phone. Select the ROM and click on the Run button. The game will now load.

There you have your favorite arcade in your Symbian series phone. Not all Nokia phones, of course, will be capable of this configuration. Make sure your handset has the specified OS.

One Truly Engineered Smartphone: The HTC P3400

On the surface, there is no reason why HTC phones should be considered inadequate. They are well-engineered, possess good spec, and run on software built by Microsoft. Those who have been wary of the high price of Windows Mobile smartphones can try this phone out relatively painlessly. But at this price, Nokia and Sony Ericsson already have phones bristling with features.

The dual core phone Samsung Galaxy S II will be released soon in the US through T-mobile as most reports suggest. It shall be named as Samsung Hercules in the US

The Samsung Hercules is reported to run on an Android OS Gingerbread. It will boast 8MP camera in the rear as primary camera. Aside from the US, it will also be released in Canada under TELUS Network under the same brand/name Samsung Hercules.

THE SAMSUNG 1900 Omnia is a phone— from a marketing standpoint- apparently designed solely to compete with the iPhone. It may fall short of Apples Liber-hyped device, but what Samsung came up with is a very sweet smart phone.

In terms of build, the Omnia even trumps the iPhone. It feels solid and has a well-balanced heft. Features-wise, Samsung threw everything in their arsenal into the Omnia: touch screen, 5—megapixel autofocus camera, 3.5G {HSDPA) connectivity, fast CPU, up to 16GB of storage, RDS Radio, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a latté machine. Ok, we were kidding about the latté.

The Omnia is one of the new generations of Windows Mobile phones to utilize version 6.1, which features threaded SMS messages. Text messages appear r in chat form as pioneered by the Treo. Seeing it implemented on the Omnia makes you realize, it’s about damn time.

The areas where the Omnia falls short are where it tries to match the iPhone. First, there's the accelerometer, which changes the orientation of the screen automatically. 1t’s tricky enough on the iPhone; here it just feels unnatural. Next is the touch screen keyboard. After a few days it was still difficult to input text quickly and accurately.

The interface that Samsung has created on top of WinMo is stylish and effective. The problem is when you use the apps and enter the realm of WinMo, the OS loses its aesthetic appeal. It feels like four years ago.

As an iPhone competitor, Samsung has created a potent challenger in the Omnia with technically better hardware than the iPhone. But it loses out when pitted against a proven strength of Apples products: the software.

So the glass is either half empty or half full, it I up to you. Mysteriously, you can only fit 128MB memory card in it, which is a shame.

For the price, you can get a modest mobile phone and a modest digital camera, but you wont look nearly half as cool. If you want a megapixel camera phone, this is a bomb.
