There's also a version of MAME for smart phones based on the Series 60 operating system. Like the version for P800 and P900 phones, the Nokia version is called EMame,To be able to play those old favorites from your youth, all you have to do this install the software on your phone and load the ROM. To get started, connect your phone to your computer using USB, Bluetooth or infrared.
You now need to Fire up your browser and head over to www.harmonicode.com/emame
to download the latest version of Emame for Series 60 phones. The software can recreate over 1000 old arcade games on your phone, and is a great way to relive those classics that played in the days when you used to wear shorts.
Install in the Phone
Now that you’ve downloaded the hle, you need to start up the Nokia PC Connectivity suite. When the menu appears, click on the Install Applications icon and then, when the mini application loads, make sure your phone is shown in the My Phone box. Locate the
EMame tile in the left—hand window and click on the green arrow to install it.
Configuration
A message will pop upon your phone telling you that the application is untrusted. Just click on the Yes soft key to continue. Then select PH.Mem to install Emame in your phone’s memory. After few seconds the application will be fully installed, now restart your phone.
Downloading the ROM
To use the emulator to play games, you need the ROM files that were used in the original arcade machines. Start up your browser and head to Google, Do a search for mario.zip, and when you locate the ROM file, download it to your desktop. Then, place it in a folder called EMame ROMS in the root of the C or E drive on your phone.
Now disconnect your phone from the PC, go to the Applications menu and select Emame from the list. Click on the OK button to have Emame scan for arcade ROMS. Once it’s finished scanning, it will find the Galaxians ROM on your phone. Select the ROM and click on the Run button. The game will now load.
There you have your favorite arcade in your Symbian series phone. Not all Nokia phones, of course, will be capable of this configuration. Make sure your handset has the specified OS.
